IMMUNE DEFICIENCIES
The state of our immune systems is greatly determined by the state of our main pillars of health. These are sleep, nutrition, our environment and genetics. If any of these foundations of health are imbalanced or compromised, our immune system can be hampered.
Immune deficiencies can present in a multitude of different ways. For some, a weakened immune system may present with niggling issues like hayfever, constant colds or recurring infections. For others, it may be frequent outbreaks of cold sores or bothersome eczema. At the other end of the scale - an overzealous immune system may result in autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, inflammatory bowel disease or psoriasis.
Boosting your immune system is integral to achieving optimal health. It is an essential protection mechanism to fight against viruses, bacterial infections and other foreign invaders.
When I am working with someone, whether on chronic conditions or an acute episode, I am always looking at firstly what is the underlying primary cause for this person. Using strong diagnostic testing is key in identifying issues such as nutritional deficiencies, underlying infections, toxicity and/or genetic susceptibilities. I also spend time identifying any lifestyle imbalances that may need to be addressed and supported.
With the right use of targeted supplements, lifestyle and dietary changes the body begins to heal and regain its inner strength and vitality.
